Refine the paint.
Keep the gloss.
Professional paint correction and XPEL ceramic coating at ICON Detailing. A considered approach to clarity, depth and easier maintenance.
Clarity before protection.
Swirl marks, light scratches and haze can interrupt an otherwise beautiful finish. Paint correction uses machine polishing to improve those visible defects. Ceramic coating is the next step: a protective surface treatment selected for your vehicle and maintenance goals.
At ICON Detailing, we assess the paint before recommending a process. A new vehicle may need only light refinement, while a daily driver can benefit from a more involved correction. The aim is a balanced result that respects the condition of the finish.
One-step correction
A focused polishing service for paint that needs improved gloss and a reduction in lighter imperfections.
- Paint condition assessment
- Targeted single-stage polishing
- Refined clarity and shine
Best discussed after inspecting your vehicle.
Two-step correction
A more involved approach for paint with visible swirls and defects that call for cutting followed by refinement.
- Correction plan for the finish
- Cutting and finishing stages
- Attention to depth and clarity
Results depend on defect depth and paint condition.
XPEL ceramic coating
Complete the preparation with a coating chosen for your vehicle, intended use and care routine.
- XPEL FUSION PLUS options
- Hydrophobic surface behavior
- Easier routine washing

A quote built around the paint.
Vehicle size, paint condition, previous repairs, correction stages and selected coating coverage affect the work involved. We confirm the scope and price for your project rather than applying the same polishing process to every vehicle. Deep scratches, chips and damaged clear coat may require a different repair approach.
Choose the right kind of protection.
A ceramic coating can make routine care more manageable, but it does not replace washing or stop stone chips. If road-impact protection is your priority, explore our XPEL paint protection film packages. Planning a new color? See our vinyl wrap services and discuss the sequence with us before booking.
Do I need paint correction before coating?
Not every car needs the same level of polishing. We inspect the finish and recommend preparation based on its condition and the result you want. A coating will not hide existing paint defects.
Can polishing remove every scratch?
No. Results depend on scratch depth, paint thickness and previous work. We explain what can be safely improved and which defects may remain.
What is the difference between one and two steps?
One-step polishing focuses on refinement in a single polishing stage. Two-step correction uses a separate cutting stage and finishing stage when the paint condition calls for it.
Will a ceramic coating stop rock chips?
No. For a physical barrier against road debris, ask about paint protection film. Coating and PPF serve different roles and can be planned together.
How long will my appointment take?
Timing depends on the correction work, coating and any required curing period. We confirm the schedule and collection instructions with your quote.
How do I maintain the finish?
Follow the care and initial cure instructions supplied for your coating. Use suitable washing methods and contact us for product-specific maintenance guidance.
